Corps Marksman Qualification
Smallbore Target Rifle
The ATC lays down rigorous standards for each level of marksmanship.
For smallbore target rifle at Corps level a cadet is required to fire 40 shots with a possible maximum score of 400 and to achieve the Marksmanship standard a score of 330/400 minimum is necessary.
The minimum standard set by 2391 Squadron is 362/400, considerably higher than the Corps requirements.
To qualify as an ATC Corps Marksman in Target Rifle requires considerable effort and dedication from cadets. So far in 2007 three cadets have achieved the 2391 Squadron standard;
Cdt Sgt Ryan Pople, 2391 Squadron
Cdt Georgia Redman, 2391 Squadron
Cdt Charlotte Staples, 149 (Poole) Squadron (shooting alongside)
